Editorial translation and revision of academic texts for international publication.

Intervention on articles, chapters, monographs and research reports.
Attention to structure, formulation and overall coherence of the text, in relation to the disciplinary context and expectations of readership.

Method

The text is treated as an editorial unit defined by the conditions of reading and evaluation. The intervention acts on structure, formulation and coherence as coordinated levels, in relation to the context of international academic publication in English.

The intervention involves three level:

Structure

Organisation of the text, argumentative progression, balance between parts.

Formulation

Lexical and syntactic choices, clarity of expression, control of register.

Coherence

Strength of the argument, internal continuity, readability for the intended reader.

  • Explicitation
Implicit logical steps → explicitation and signposted progression

    Control
Extended and hierarchical structures → linear sequences

    Lexicon
Variable formulations → stable and recognisable terms

    Positioning
Implicit contribution → explicit definition in relation to the state of the field
